Yes it worked a bit faster, and then a minute later i was sitting there with my unsupported Maemo OS again..

Im not sure i care.. Maemo OS is dead in the water with no official future support for Megoo from Nokia – does anyone really still use the N900 as their main phone?
I just play around with mine while waiting for Samsung Omnia 7 or the HTC Trophy

That’s not a phone, now this is a phone

OMG how can he go from open source to the closed WP7?!!
Easy, im tired of having problems with small stuff that really just should work out of the box.

Thx for the ride and fuck off Nokia.

Addicted to binary bullshit

Remember “back in the day” when going on vaction ment no phone, no computer and your contact with the rest of the world was limited to a postcard every now and then during the trip? And in best case it had arrived before you came home..

Gentlemen – Start your engines!

If your answer is “no..” youre probably a lot younger then me. Most of my vacations was actually spent like above. No contact with work, no phonecalls, no TV, no idea where or what my friends was up to. When you got home you made slides of all your pictures, inviting friends over and had “show and tell”.  And remember – this is not 100 years ago. Im “only” 42 yo, mind you.

With facebook hitting over 150 million mobile users it’s safe to asume we’re not in Kansas anymore – Blackmoore

My answer is “Hell no!”
Now I share my pictures and videos with the rest of my friends the same second things happen on my Nokia N900. Writing “status messages” telling my network where i am and when im doing “it”. I get a shitload of mail from work every coupple of minutes, SMS, MMS from my mother, father, friends etc. updating me on every little thing there up to.. And with facebook hitting over 150 million mobile users it’s safe to asume we’re not in Kansas anymore!

Yesterday my computer even asked me if I wanted to activate the built in GPS while I was connecting via 3G.. My answer was “Hell no!” and I started to think – is this really “beeing away”?

Addicted to binary bullshit
Seems to me like were just changing location but we still do the same things and the factor of stress is just as high – were all addicted to binary bullshit.

So fuck this! – this is my last blogpost for a coupple of weeks, and I wont be using facebook, flickr, youtube either. I just turned my phone off to – cuz i don’t want another bullshit sms from my father updating me on whatever he’s up to!

This is Blackmoore – signing out from binary bullshit!

And what about the N900?
And yes, there will be meego for N900 although Nokia Will Not Be Officially Supporting It. As you all know 1.0 for the N900 is allready out. Simply it is the complete OS core that lets you boot up to command line, but there is no UX so far. This means the majority of the users can look away for now. The MeeGo Handset UX will come with MeeGo 1.1 in Q4 2010

PR 1.2 leaked

A few days before release the global file for PR 1.2 leaked. Not very suprising as the device is beeing launched in HK this week with the PR 1.2 preinstalled.

Anyway, if you dont like to wait for the update via your app manager (and why should you wait?) go ahead and flash your device the oldschool manual way.

Full instructions here

And  download the PR 1.2 bin file here
*edit* As this file is actually leaked i decided to remove the link to it – using a simple search in google will get you there though. 🙂

If you still feel sceptic just check out this youtube video of it.

It works flawless, and full language support (as it’s global duh!) so just get on it. I was done in less then 2 minutes with it.

Meego finally here

“..these images will boot into terminal.”

A wise man waits a week or two before flashing.. just a tip
